On a Friday morning in early February, YCM received a call from Sing Sing Music, a Milan-based music production and consultancy company that specializes in TV, web and radio commercials. Sing Sing Music was searching for talented young singers to record Lou Reed’s “A perfect day” for use in a potential client advertisement. Naturally, the deadline was looming: the recording session needed to be wrapped up by the following Tuesday.
Overtones choristers Sofia and Clara and their families immediately stepped up, confirming their enthusiastic availability despite the tight timing. The girls even committed to a special Saturday practice session with Artistic Director Amy Barton to prepare the song.
The recording session itself was a fabulous experience for Sofia and Clara, as well as for Amy who accompanied the girls and assisted with direction during the recording. YCM received high praise for our choristers’ professionalism and technique, and we look forward to future collaboration opportunities with Sing Sing Music.
