HARMONICS: Early Elementary Choir in English
Harmonics is our ensemble for students enrolled in first and second grades for the academic year. In our weekly lesson of one hour, we rotate through activities that help us explore our voices and connect to the lyrics of the pieces we are studying. Each piece selected serves a pedagogical purpose whether to increase range, develop breath support, or improve intonation. In addition, we’ll begin the joyous journey of learning to read music using games.

YCM now has three sections of our Harmonics course! On Mondays and Wednesdays, we are at our Brera home in via Solferino 17. On Thursdays, we are in Porta Romana, at Corso di Porta Romana 121. Students enroll in one of the sections and meet regularly on that day, but they also have the possibility to come to another section class to make up a missed lesson.
Each Harmonics section meets once a week from September through May with breaks scheduled for Christmas, Carnival, and Easter, as well as national and local public holidays. A full calendar with all our activities’ dates and locations is available to students on our private Google Classroom.
Performances throughout the artistic season
YCM believes strongly in giving our choristers multiple opportunities to perform. We want our young artists to experience the sense of satisfaction that is felt as a result of hours of acquiring new skills and overcoming challenges to gain mastery. These performances are peak experiences for choristers and audiences alike, showcasing weeks, months, and even years of musical preparation and dedication.
